Starfish


Cell Phone Charm Crafts are great for girls ages 7-11. They love to create charms that are just like their friends' and hang them from cell phones, belt loops, or purses.


Materials For Each Charm:        


  • One plain, metal key ring.
  • Various beads and small plastic items to string.
  • String that comes with the beads or thin wire or dental floss. 

Method:


  • Cut a length of string about 10" (25 cm) long.

  • Tie one end to the metal key ring.

  • Put the charms on the string in a pattern.

  • When finished, tie the second end to the key ring and cut the excess string.

Cell Phone Charm Crafts - Bow



These cell phone charm crafts are fun to make and girls ages 8-12 enjoy them very much, trading them back and forth, and matching them to the clothing they're wearing.



Materials:


  • Small, colorful beads that can be purchased at craft and drug     stores
  • String that comes with the beads or dental floss
  • Glitter pens
  • Scissors

Method:


  • Cut a length of elastic string or dental floss 16" (40 cm) long.

  • Tie a metal ring in the middle of the length of string.

  • Choose the color(s) of beads you want to use for one side of the bow.

  • String 8 beads in the middle of the length.

  • Tie a triple knot (three ties to hold it).

  • Without cutting the string, do the same again.

  • String 4 beads on each end of the string and tie them with triple knots.

  • Cut the ends of the string.

  • Put a dab of glitter glue in the middle of the bow to hide the knots.

  • Let it dry overnight.

  • Turn it over and put a dab of glitter on any knots that show in the back.

  • Let it dry overnight.

Dragonfly Materials:


  • Small, colorful beads that can be purchased at craft and drug     stores
  • String that comes with the beads or dental floss
  • Glitter pens
  • Scissors

Method:


  • Cut a length of plastic string or dental floss 20" (50 cm) long.

  • Tie a metal ring right in the middle of the length of string.

  • Choose the color of beads you want for the first set of wings (16 beads).

  • String them in the middle of the length of string and tie a triple knot.

  • Loop one end of the string around the middle of the beads to form two wings and triple tie it.

  • String on one single bead of a different color to start the body.

  • Tie it off with a double knot.

  • String 8 beads on each piece of string and triple tie them into loops for the second set of wings.

  • Tie them with triple knots.

  • String 7 more beads for the body and triple tie the end.

  • Cut any extra from both ends of the string.

  • Put dabs of glitter glue on any knots that show and in               between the beads forming the body.

  • Let it dry overnight.

  • Turn it over and put dabs of glitter on any knots that show in the back.

  • Let it dry overnight.

Variations:


  • Simple, straight strings of various colors, hung from a metal ring.

  • Make circles of 16 beads of various colors and tie them all          together in the middles to form a flower.
